As much as I appreciate having my job, I will never understand some of the characters that make up the people I have to work with. Every job seems to have them; the one that’s noisy, the one that knows the gossip and tells everyone, the one that always has an answer on everything. So what is someone to do when you have to deal with these people Monday through Friday from nine to five?
I’m still learning how to cope with some of my co-workers, but the best advice that I can give you is to remember who you are. Not to go into much detail but the traits that I named above represent various people I work with. They ask personal questions, some that are too personal, and don’t understand that some things in life are just private. Asking about someones weekend and what they did is one thing, but to ask about the someones relationship and intimate details is another.
As one of my very good friends says, “the more under the radar you are, the more people start to focus on you.” So let the characters pick and pry at your life’s every aspect. What they get to know is all to you discretion. Noisy, gossip, and know- it-all will always be the way they are, but you are the one that has to deal with them for a short amount of time and then move on with your life.
