The Truth About Finding The Right Girlfriends

The best times that I have are when I’m hanging out with my girls. Those times are so fulfilling, but at the same it’s hard to obtain. For some reason it’s hard to find girlfriends that are like-minded to hang out with.

For a long time I’ve had a problem finding women to hang out with that I had some similarities with. Many of the women that I would be around at the time didn’t think or carry themselves like I did, so I ended up being by myself or with my guy friends. Over time I found four main girlfriends that I associate with, but it took a while.

One of the hardest parts is as much as I wanted a friend I knew that associating myself with just anyone won’t benefit me. Finding a solid friend is daunting because people will come and go or others will not work out. However, the right people will show that they are good friends, trustworthy, and dependable.

There is nothing like having people in one’s life that are reliable. I’ve had a lot of friends come and go, but these ladies have been there for through it all. They were hard to find in the beginning, but I’m glad to have them.

I am with you on hoping to meet people that will help me grow. One of the great things about hanging out with like-minded people is some of the differences. I like what that can bring into a friendship and how that can shape us into better people.

Growth is a wonderful thing that we should all embrace. Thank you for the comment and stopping by!

I couldn’t have said it better my friend! Have someone that you can share all sorts of emotions with is wonderful, esspecially when you can related to them. I love my guy friends, but there are some things that we can only talk to a woman about and they can understand.

I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment buddy!

This article is on point my circle is one less but I value my friendships. They are my rock and will tell me about myself in a minute. I love that they are so multi-faceted yet we manage to find that comfortable common ground. I love my girls!

That is awesome! I think it’s important to have friends that are all different because each one brings something to the table that unique. Having friends like that brings multiple point of views into our life and that’s truly valuable.

Oh my goodness, I am so jealous of you girls, I lost track with many of my girls. I moved out of state for many years and have since moved back, but have been unable to get in touch with any of them. I miss not having them in my life and for some reason I have not been able to make a connection or should I say, I have not had that sort or relationship or met women who I clicked with. I’m totally missing that kind or relationship in my life, so I say keep on doing what you are doing and please don’t take your girls for granted. Those relationships are very hard to come by. I appreciate all of the posts I read on this subject, and thanks again.

    Genuinely appreciative,

Monique, now that I’ve moved away and have come back to looking at this post I can relate to you completely. Being miles or states away from your girls is hard because that does change the dynamic of the relationship with the distance. I will say that the internet and trading off on visits has made it easier.

You brought up a good point when you said not to take our girls for granted. A good friend is hard to find, so when we come across one we have to cherish them. Hopefully you and I can find some new girlfriends in our new cities.

Thank you for coming by, I hope you come back soon.

I agree – it is so hard to find one, let alone three or four, women that you get along with and are on the same page as you. Everyone has a different definition of what it means to be a friend and what a friend means to them. Many people view a friend as someone they can take-take-take from and feel they never have to give anything back or feel they need to one-up or look down on their friend(s), which hurts the friendship and could cause it to end abruptly. I realize that everyone who comes into your life is not meant to stay, but it does hurt sometimes to have to let people go, as I have had to do. Thankfully, I have some great girlfriends spread out across the states, and I finally met one Sista who lives in the same state as I that I consider a TRUE friend. She and I have so much in common, she’s like my twin sister separated at birth. I am grateful for having her here and the ones who live elsewhere.

This is so true. When I moved to Maryland I did not have a lot of female friends. In fact, it was just my roommate and I that knew each other. Meeting people at work is cool, but it seems like if we weren’t high school friends then the chances of us getting close were slim to none. I am glad I am not alone. I appreciate this post and look forward to reading more.
