Being unemployed gives a person a lot of time to do anything they can think of, which many of us can be the use to figure out our future. By analyzing the steps that we need to take it helps us see what we need to do. For those who are serious about pursuing their dreams planning gets us on that path.
With the economy being the way that it is and the stiff competition for any available job I’ve really had to buckle down on going after my writing career. Right now anyone is lucky to get a job that pertains to their interest, but many people are having to apply and accept any job that they can get. While I may have to settle for any job that I can get now I don’t want that to effect my career.
Having all this time everyday to do anything can get annoying if I’m not doing anything, but staying busy and developing strategies has helped me see what work I need to be doing. When I was working I would come home and spend my evenings cooking, cleaning, and getting ready for the next day. I didn’t have time to sit down and plan out how I was going to get closer to my goals.
Now I can focus on securing them by researching what sites, companies, and people I need to contact and the opening that I can get going. Seizing the chance to determine the future is something that few have time to do, so I’m choosing to use it to my advantage and grab onto my goals.
