Here we are at the beginning of the new year with our resolutions/goals fresh on our minds. Right now our intention is to complete what we have set for ourselves, but as the year progresses we forget or simply dismiss our resolutions. This made me wonder if there is a way to accomplish a resolution before it’s not worth our time.
My friend’s mom is a fan of my site, and I shared with her my goals for this year in terms of what I want to do with Mind of a Diva. She advised to me to not focus on the goals but to them break down into steps and have that lead me to accomplishing the goal. She said sometimes our goals are so broad and that we don’t consider of ways to accomplish them and we end up spending the year focused on that instead of starting with a plan of action.
She showed me her goals for the year, which are exercise more and read her bible. Then she pulled out her planner and each week she has some step pertaining to her goal. Three days out of the week she has a work out planned and two days out of the week she wrote to read a passage. Each week she is moving closer to her accomplishing her resolutions by planning.
If we really want to accomplish what we have in mind for our lives then we have to prepare in-depth plans to do it. So if that means planning our week or reminding ourselves of what we want then we owe it to ourselves to do that. We all deserve to have the best, so the least we can do is go after it.
