It’s understandable for one to be devoted to their career because that’s what they enjoy. A career can easily becomes one’s life sometimes and dictate what they do. So where is the point in one’s life that work can’t cross?
My friend’s life revolves around his job and working. His work schedule is Monday through Friday, but he does work on the weekend and on holidays. Earlier this week he told me about how he was frustrated with his secretary because he emailed her on a holiday and she didn’t respond back till the day after.
As much as he works he does every so often he will make comments about how he wishes he had a life. He talks about dating and going out, yet he continues to spend his time working.
I was always told that life is too short to not enjoy it. Everyday we are going to have something that needs to be done, and that list never ends. The best way to get everything done is to balance work with the free time so one won’t get boggled down.
So don’t let the “To DO” list of list keep you from living it and taking some time for you. There is plenty of time to work in a week, but not enough time to relax.
