The most refreshing thing in life is to be still enough to listen to the pleasantry of nothing. Life is full of hustle and bustle where we become consumed with 80% of things that have no value while we deject the 20% things that are important. In our journey to find a peace of mind we become immersed in donating pieces of ourselves to everyone without savoring some intimate time for ourselves.
I decided to spend two weeks immersing myself in doing more of what I love and less of what consumes my time. I realized a week ago when I was burnout with the demands of work. I missed a week of gym time which it helped me realize how much I had been neglecting my needs. Exercising is what makes me happy so I know I should never let anything get in the way of what I love. After last week, I am making a vow to myself to do more of what makes me happy. We spend countless of hours consumed with so many unnecessary things that waste our time or take away from the things we love to do.
After a long work week, I realized my time is precious and I refuse to let anything stop me from enjoying the simplicity of life. So many people are bitter about life because they never really have spent the time to do what they enjoy. They have spent half of their lives doing everything to please others, letting others tell them what is important or simply controlling other people lives. It is about time to take a step back, enjoy the stillness and do what makes you happy. I urge you to take a journey to reevaluate your time to figure out if you are wasting time being productive or being consumed.
I am in the midst of reading “The 4 Hour Work Week” by Timothy Ferriss; he discusses this concept more in his book. His book has been an eye opener for me to reassess the “real” important things in my life. Also after connecting with my amazing life coach, Mrs. Tia Brewer-Footman I understood that if it is not fulfilling my God given purpose why should I allow it to take my time. Time is precious; once it’s gone you cannot recoup it back. I am challenging you today to make time for the things that bring fulfillment to your life, things that add value to your God given purpose/gift and use time to your advantage. Time can work for you by utilizing it in a wise way. Eliminate the things that are fruitless and start producing fruitful things in your life!
