For some of us it would be professional, others it’s personal, and the rest it could be a variety of things. My thoughts for the past few months have been on all of this as I get things set on what I want in my life. I’ve reached a point where I no longer want to dream on my dreams but act on them.
One of my goals for this year is to devote more time to reading, so I’m devoting time to three different books. One of my books is about how to have a successful woman’s mindset and achieve the life that you want. In one chapter the author suggest that in order to have the life you want you must daily prepare yourself for that life. So if you want to be a teacher then study as a teacher’s aid, be a mom then spend some time around mothers and kids, or whatever you need to do. Just take the time to learn each job or role and what it entails.
The point is that whatever you’re looking to do isn’t going to fall into your lap. Wishing and hoping that it will all come together isn’t going to do it. Everything you want to obtain in life has to be prepared for so that when the opportunity comes you can walk into it. I don’t know a role in the world that anyone can walk into with some sort of prior knowledge or skills. So take the time to build on your future mentally and physically.
Over time you’ll see that as you’re preparing for your aspirations new doors and opportunities will open. I’ve been able to connect with so many people through social media in my writing pursuits. Through these encounters I’ve become better and more knowledgable about what I’m going after, and gained a valuable network.
So how are you preparing for what you are chasing?
