Did you know that today is World Cancer Day? It’s all about spreading information about cancer so that more people are aware of the risk and myths. Every October we dedicate our site to educating and supporting the fight against Breast Cancer as a tribute to the survivors and those that have passed, but today we want to honor everyone who’s faced any type of cancer.
The theme for this year is getting rid of the myths surrounding cancer. The picture to the right shows four of the most common myths about cancer. When we’re young we think the have a misconception that things can’t happen to us. However, we can just as likely as anyone else and need to be aware of what’s out there and how we can better take care of ourselves.
The purpose of World Cancer Day is to stop people from turning a blind eye to cancer, the risk, the treatments. and the help that’s out there. Some people feel that there’s no need to talk about cancer when one of the most important things to know is about your health no matter your age. Second, be aware of your family history so you can be aware of what’s out there. Many cancers come with signs and symptoms that the doctor can make you aware of. It’s been proven that the earlier any risk are detects the better the treatments that can be given. By being aware of what’s out there and your risk can protect yourself and find about getting the right care.
