There are times when we hit a crossroads in life where we have to choose either the easy or hard way out. Problems are expected in relationships and dating, but it all comes down to how it’s handled. So why is it tempting to choose the easy way out in order to solve relationship problems?
My old friend called me the other day about her ongoing problem with her boyfriend. They have been fighting for weeks and chose to end it instead of fixing it. Although she has been devastated she felt that there was too much damage to fix things.
The odd thing is that they chose to put their history aside just to get away from their problems. However, it didn’t fix anything, it just gave them momentary relief. While she was upset over what happened he was mad about it too, so they could have saved themselves from unnecessary pain by working it out.
The thing is that when something is meant to be, the easy way won’t always work out. Some situations are going to be hard and not have a quick fix. The harder path has to be taken for things to work and to develop a new understanding.
